Committees
Christian Education
The Christian Education Committee works to recruit Sunday School teachers, choose a curriculum, and plan special events such as Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF or Christmas service projects.
Hospitality Committee
Meeting on an as-needed basis, this committee meets to provide hospitality functions of the church that involve preparing or serving food.
Memorial Committee
The Memorial Committee meets as needed to consider and discuss the disbursement of memorial monies that have been gifted to Grace Church.
Music and Arts Committee
Recognizing that music and visual arts are an integral part of the worship experience, Grace Church is fortunate to have musicians willing to share their talents. This committee plans for the musical elements of worship, enhances the sanctuary decor each season, and works the projection during worship services.
Scholarship Committee
The Fred and Frieda Kirkpatrick Scholarship is awarded to a Grace UCC member or family member who is or will be attending Lakeland University. The committee meets as needed to promote the scholarship fund, review applications, and oversee the selection of the recipient.
Daughters of Grace
Daughters of Grace is open to all women (and men) of Grace Church. Our purpose is to decorate the church for the four seasons of the year with season-appropriate decorations and flowers. Daughters of Grace organizes the poinsettia and Easter flowers sales that congregation members can purchase in memory of loved ones or as an honorarium.
Investments Committee
The Investment Committee works with a local investment firm to ensure that we receive the best return on our investments. A percentage of the earnings is designated for outreach programs.
Missions Committee
Serving the greater community beyond the church walls is an important function of the Missions Committee. Each month brings focus on a different need in the community where the members of Grace Church can make a difference. Collections of food, socks, and hygience products, along with the traditional Giving Tree at Christmas, are just a few of the examples of this committee's work. New members and new ideas are always welcome!
Property Committee
Maintaining and repairing the buildings and grounds of the church proper and the parsonage are the main purposes of this committee, which meets monthly. Friends and members of the congregation also step forward to help with smaller projects throughout the year.
Stewardship Committee
Promoting the financial stewardship of the church members is the primary goal of this committee. This committee meets as needed to plan for the annual pledge drive as well as several fundraisers including Soup'er Bowl Sunday, Scroll Night Brat Fry, and sale of Scrip. They also oversee the membership roll.
